Thoroughly enjoyed reading Lee’s book. I know first hand about her stories growing up in the same southern location and attending church with her as a young girl. Always knew she’d do things her OWN way. I can certainly go back in time to her mother’s classroom and to the mother trying to keep up with an energetic and creatively smart daughter. Just couldn’t put the book down wondering what Lee was going to do or say next! My family would agree that Lee and I have the same traits. Must be something we both inherited from our small town many, many years ago. You only need to look in my closets, basement, and classroom. Many wonderful memories came to surface during the reading and rereading of this entertaining book. The book will certainly be under the tree as a gift to my sister.

Loved it! Lee St. John has done it again. I just finished reading her second book and couldn’t put it down. Her stories are hysterical and as a high school teacher I can relate to her actions and reactions in the classroom. I loved her stories about living and growing up in the South. Lee St. John has had a very full life. Reading her books is like sitting on the front porch sharing fun stories with a dear friend. I am looking forward to her next book. I highly recommend She’s a Keeper-Anecdotes from a Southern Girl’s Attic. It is a very quick book full of lively stories and lots of laughs.

from COMPOSITIONS FROM A SOUTHERN GIRL’S CLASSROOM:

5.0 out of 5 stars Life is Always Better with Humor Attached, June 26, 2017
This review is from: She’s A Keeper!: Compositions from a Southern Girl’s Classroom (Volume 4) (Paperback)

I have never written a review but often use reviews before purchasing a book. Shame on me. And, to be honest, my typical genre is in the thriller category – spy and murder mysteries. However, due to circumstances, a little humor was needed, and I struck pay dirt. St. John does not only bring humor to the page, but to a former educator whose career mirrored hers, she triggers memories long ago buried.

In life, we often get too busy, too result focused to see the humor in every day events. From her childhood memories to her teenage years to her teaching career, St. John shows a passion for life and reminds us that that passion should also contain humor. She’s A Keeper: Compositions from a Southern Girl’s Classroom will make you remember, make you smile, and sometimes make you laugh – definitely a feel good book.
